Poaching
Poaching is the illegal killing, hunting or seizing of wildlife, this practice can occur in two main ways.
Firstly, poaching can be the failure to obey the regulations that exist to prevent the illegal taking of animals to produce things like clothing and medicine. Examples can include: Taking without a license/permit, use of a illegal trap or weapon, taking outside of the allowed time of day (or year), and taking of a protected gender or a specific life stage. Secondly, poaching can also refer to the taking of animals from a special wildlife sanctuary, some examples may include; game reserve, national park or zoo. Most countries have enforced various laws on the hunting of wild animals, and there are international controls, such as prohibitions, restrictions. These actions are both aimed at controlling poaching. |
